In the process of covering her own nest, this Green Sea Turtle has actually destroyed the nest of another sea turtle, exposing freshly laid eggs.
Exposed sea turtle eggs become a food source for predators; raccoons, ghost crabs, sea gulls, and, in this case, a crow.
Sea Turtles do not actually cry. They have a salt gland to rid their bodies of excess salt. This gland empties into the turtle's eyes and makes it look like it is crying. These "tears" help keep the eyes free of sand while the turtle is nesting on the beach.
